La Comision Mixta de Colaboracion

La Comision Mixta de Colaboracion is a cross-border collaborative group of local Government authorities in the Campo de Gibraltar area and Gibraltar, who are involved in the ‘Los Barrios Process’.

Originally, the Comision Mixta consisted of the Gibraltar Government and the Mancomunidad de Municipios, the Community of local Spanish Municipalities of the Campo de Gibraltar.

In March 2007, the Junta de Andalucia, the autonomous governing body for the province of Andalusia, officially participated for the first time in the ‘Process’ and became part of the Comision Mixta.

The Comision Mixta is involved in an ongoing dialogue, in a series of meetings convened from time to time, covering mutual areas of concern and interest, such as Transport, Education, Health, the Environment and Emergency Contingency Planning for the area. This process of dialogue between all the local governments of Gibraltar and the Spanish Campo de Gibraltar area, is known as the ‘Los Barrios Process‘.
